John Norris Brown is a graduate student at Appalachian State University, in Boone, NC, where he is working toward a Master of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in American Government. He is currently writing his thesis, which deals with blogs and their influence in American government. Prior to attending Appalachian State University, John earned a BA degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a minor in History in 2004. While a student at UT, John was heavily active in College Republicans and was a weekly political columnist for the student newspaper, The Daily Beacon.
John enjoys hiking and outdoor recreation in his free time, as well as the music of the Eagles, Led Zepplin, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice Cooper, and others. He hopes someday to teach, but has no idea what he will be doing this fall.
