Gerald Ford, 1913-2006

Former President Gerald R. Ford passed away today at the age of 93. Ford was appointed Vice President by Nixon following the resignation of Spiro T. Agnew, and assumed the presidency in 1974 when Nixon resigned. He was defeated by Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Gerald Ford is remembered as a man who returned prestige and confidence to the presidency following Watergate and the Nixon resignation. Ford was a great man who did his best in a difficult situation, and helped rebuild America’s confidence in the presidency. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.
